Everything about Maple Butter totally explained

Maple butter is a confection that's made from maple syrup, by cooking the syrup to approximately, cooling it to room temperature, and stirring it until it reaches a smooth consistency. It is sometimes used as a spread instead of butter, or as a frosting. Cinnamon is sometimes added to create "maple cinnamon butter". A gallon (about 3.8 liters) of pure maple syrup will make about of maple butter, also called maple cream or maple spread. It has the consistency of peanut butter. It doesn't contain any dairy product; its name comes from the fact that it's "creamy" or "buttery" smooth.
